Food at the rink

Concession & team meals

The Big Valley Agriplex concession is now run by a local caterer. Along with the concession, they offer pre-orders and team meals/catering — handy for feeding the team between games on a busy weekend.

For menus, pre-orders or team meal requests, email Skyla and Catrina at bigvalleykitchen26@gmail.com. If you're planning a team meal, reach out ahead of the weekend so they can plan for your group.

Schedule

Round robin + finals

4 teams, six round-robin games, then an A Final for the championship and a B Final for 3rd place. Ice times are locked — no time changes or team slot swaps. Team names below are placeholders until rosters are confirmed; the final schedule with real team names goes out once registration closes. Round-robin games are stop time and can end in a tie. B Final ties go straight to a 3-on-3 shootout; A Final ties go to a 3-on-3 overtime first, then a shootout if still tied — see Game Rules below.

Scoring

Games are scored in TeamLinkt this season

New for 2026-27: every game is scored digitally in TeamLinkt instead of paper gamesheets, a Hockey Calgary requirement. Every team joins the Lamplighter league in TeamLinkt before the tournament — the why and the how are at lamplighterserieshockey.ca/join-teamlinkt. Scorekeepers score in a web browser at games.teamlinkt.com; each game's code appears in TeamLinkt 24 hours before the game.

Awards & swag

What every player takes home

Every player goes home with Lamplighter swag, and every game hands out MVP and Heart & Hustle awards — plus medals for the top finishers.

Round robin — standings & ties

Round-robin games are stop time with no overtime or shootout — a tied score after regulation stands. Standings points: 2 for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss. If teams are level on points once the round robin is complete, the tiebreaker is goals for and against (goal differential).

Ties — B Final (3rd place)

Straight to a 3-on-3 shootout, no overtime period. Ice isn't resurfaced first; teams don't change ends. 3 shooters per team, home team chooses to shoot 1st or 2nd; if still tied after 3 rounds, sudden victory (one shooter each per round until a round has a scorer and a non-scorer).

Ties — A Final (championship)

A 3-minute, 3-on-3 sudden-victory overtime first (3 skaters + goalie, or 4 skaters with no goalie) — stop time, no end change, goaltender may be swapped for a skater at any point, never fewer than 3 players on the ice. The first goal scored wins the game immediately; the clock does not run out the rest of the 3 minutes once a goal is scored. Still tied after the full 3 minutes with no goal → 3-on-3 shootout, same format as the B Final above. Any penalty in overtime is a penalty shot for the other team instead of time served; a player ejected before overtime doesn't return.

Conduct

One rink, one standard

Hockey Calgary's Code of Conduct applies to every player, coach and parent at the arena and at team hotels, for host and guest teams alike. Please treat officials, volunteers and other teams the way you'd want your own team treated.

Zero tolerance for abuse of officials. Lamplighter has zero tolerance for abuse of the officials working our games. The Lamplighter executive committee reserves the right to eliminate a team from the tournament if official abuse occurs — that team forfeits its remaining games in the tournament, and no refund is issued.

Questions or concerns about this tournament should go to your team's Tournament Lead first. If your Tournament Lead is unavailable, contact the Lamplighter Committee at tournaments@glenlakehockey.com (emergency use only) — please don't contact Hockey Calgary or the Glenlake office directly.
