Schedule

Round robin schedule

5 teams, 10 round-robin games — every team plays 4 games. This is a Hockey Calgary development division: there are no standings, no playoffs and no declared tournament champion at U9. Team names below are placeholders until rosters are confirmed; the final schedule with real team names goes out once registration closes.

Format & rules

  • This is a full-ice tournament. It uses Hockey Calgary's 2026–27 U9 full-ice option for exhibition and tournament games from December 26. By registering, teams agree to play full ice.
  • 5-on-5 plus one goalie — only one goalie may dress per game. Up to five coaches per team on the bench.
  • 12-game full-ice limit: Hockey Calgary allows each U9 team a maximum of 12 full-ice games from December 26. These 4 games count toward that — please check your team has room.
  • 5 minutes of warm-up/setup, three 15-minute periods with a running clock (short rests between periods), then 3 minutes to shake hands. The ice floods for 15 minutes after every second game, not every game.
  • 90-second shifts, no offside or icing, blue pucks (black only if both coaches agree). A penalized player is replaced, so play stays at even strength.
  • This is a development division — no official score, no standings and no tournament winner, per Hockey Calgary policy.
  • Hockey Calgary's 2026–27 Game Play Guidelines and Tournament Policy govern anything not covered here.

Scoring

Games are scored in TeamLinkt this season

New for 2026-27: every game is scored digitally in TeamLinkt instead of paper gamesheets, a Hockey Calgary requirement. Every team joins the Lamplighter league in TeamLinkt before the tournament — the why and the how are at lamplighterserieshockey.ca/join-teamlinkt. Scorekeepers score in a web browser at games.teamlinkt.com; each game's code appears in TeamLinkt 24 hours before the game. As a development division, games here don't carry an official score — every game is still logged in TeamLinkt, submitted as 0-0.

Awards & swag

What every player takes home

Every player goes home with Lamplighter swag and a participation medal, and every game hands out MVP and Heart & Hustle awards.

2026-27 Lamplighter swag — every player takes home a hat, buff, ball and tote plus a participation medal, with MVP and Heart & Hustle awards every game

Conduct

One rink, one standard

Hockey Calgary's Code of Conduct applies to every player, coach and parent at the arena and at team hotels, for host and guest teams alike. Please treat officials, volunteers and other teams the way you'd want your own team treated.

Zero tolerance for abuse of officials. Lamplighter has zero tolerance for abuse of the officials working our games. The Lamplighter executive committee reserves the right to eliminate a team from the tournament if official abuse occurs — that team forfeits its remaining games in the tournament, and no refund is issued.

Questions or concerns about this tournament should go to your Tournament Lead, Kristy Lachapelle, first. If Kristy is unavailable, contact the Lamplighter Committee at tournaments@glenlakehockey.com (emergency use only) — please don't contact Hockey Calgary or the Glenlake office directly.
